This epic of Mahabharatham is a dubbed version of the Hindi version Mahabharat, telecasted on Star Plus. It is a mythological television serial / drama directed by Siddharth Anand Kumar, Amar Preet, Kamal, and Loknath. They spent over 100 crores for this project and about 20 crores for marketing and advertisement alone. The serial launched its first episode on 16th September 2013 in Star Plus and later dubbed in Tamil.
There is a huge war planned between the Kauravas and the Pandavas called Mahabharat. Dirdurashtra and Gandhari are married, and they give birth to 100 sons. Gandhari’s husband is blind and hence she ties a cloth on her eyes and promises to keep her eyes closed forever. This creates hatred in Gandhari’s brother Shakuni. He takes revenge by turning Gandhari’s sons against Pandu brothers (Arjun, Beem, Yudhisthira, Nakul, and Sahadev). This is the key reason for the war. However, many twists unfold with the entry of Lord Krishna, who is responsible for a paradigm shift as he is supporting the Pandavas.
Karna is a good friend of Duryodhana, and he helps him greatly during the war. He is the ruler of Anga Kingdom. He was originally born to Kunti, however she hides it. Therefore, a chariot rider adopts Karna and that becomes the problem. Karna wants to rule a kingdom and nobody offers him a kingdom except Duryodhan. Therefore, he is very loyal and faithful to his friend. The war takes place for 18 days in a place called Kurukshetra. In the battle, Abhimanyu (Arjun’s son), Guru Dron, Dushasan, Shakuni, Duryodhana and all children of Pandavas are killed. Finally, truth wins and Pandavas take over the throne of Hastinapur. This serial runs for about 20 minutes and completed in September 2014. The title song starts with “Hai Katha Sangram Ki” and won millions of heart. TRP ratings of Star Plus and Star Vijay have gone high.

This show is the Tamil version of Hindu Epic Drama show of Mahabharata. In this show the narrator told about the story of two real brothers. One was King Pandu with 5 sons and other was King Dhritarashtra with his hundred sons.They were the Churlish competitor who had the same objective and fought against each other in the battle for owning the domain of Bharat with Hastinapura village which was known for the city of Elephant.

Mahabharatham (Tamil: மகாபாரதம்) is a Tamil mythological soap opera that aired every Sunday on Vijay TV from 17 February 2013 to 29 May 2016 at 10:00AM IST for 166 episodes.[1][2] The saga starts from the Adhi Parwam of Mahabharatam.
The show starred Poovilangu Mohan, Saakshi Siva, Amit Bhargav, Neelima Rani, Ilavarasan, Nisha Krishnan and among others. It was produced by Cinevistaas Limited and director by C.V. Sasikumar, Raja and Suresh Krissna. The epic television series has more than 400 artists cast in various roles.[3] The show is extensively shot in and around Bangalore with studio sets which cost more than 1 crore rupees.[4][5]
